In November 2019, Dana travelled to Puerto Vallarta with a group of Travel Advisors to do nothing put experience all-inclusive resorts and the region. All with the goal of enhancing their skills to be an integral part of your travel planning. Here’s her experience:
Five days in Puerto Vallarta, yes, quite enviable, but rest assured this was no vacation. In the course of 5 days, we toured 16 resorts, stayed at 3, ate at a multitude of them and visited numerous regions in the area, as well as, a special day trip into the mountains. We viewed everything from budget conscious 3 stars to luxury 5 star resorts. Why? Because everyone’s budgets, tastes, expectations and needs are different (even from 1 trip to the next). I was travelling with 16 other like-minded advisors, Each had their own special back story, length of time in the industry, niche clientele. Not only do I have a more intimate knowledge of the area, first hand knowledge at an abundance of resorts, but I also have further extended my network of advisors to call on. We really are stronger together! Highlights for me? I love to get off resort and experience the authenticity and culture of an area. - Sayulita – a cute little town known for it’s surfing, pretty beaches, art galleries and food! It is unique in that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist areas.
- San Sebastien del Oeste – this was a full day trip into the mountains. We visited a small family owned tequilera, an organic family-owned coffee plantation and than explored the cobblestone streets of San Sebastian del Oeste and need I mention the mole (ask me if you aren’t sure what that is)?! Wowza!
- Sunsets. Sunsets and more sunsets!
I really do love Mexico. I love the people and I loved my time in Puerto Vallarta. I have a specific resort that I would love to go to with my husband. Another great one with my children. A huge group? Yes, I know where I’d stay for that too. On a budget? Yes. Win the lottery? Yes, I have a place for that too! |
